Andrew was a lawyer for 18 years before stepping out to work with his family as a director of Smithfield Cattle Company in January 2014. Andrew was formerly a partner of McMahon Clarke which is a boutique commercial law firm at which he accrued over 12 years of experience in the Australian funds management industry and prior to that a further six years as a banking and finance lawyer in Australia and London. Andrew has held committee positions with the Property Council of Australia, the Property Funds Association of Australia and was previously appointed to the Australian Government's Financial Services Working Group, which was tasked with the overhaul of parts of Australia's financial services laws. Andrew was also ranked by Chambers & Partners as a Leading Individual in the field of Investment Funds in Australia. At Smithfield Cattle Company, Andrew combines his legal, corporate and funds management expertise with his feedlot knowledge to help direct the corporate group in its progression.
ALFA is the peak representative body for the cattle feedlot industry. Its charter is to provide advocacy on issues that impact upon the sector, determine the allocation and prioritisation of grain fed beef levies and to deliver industry development activities to improve the standards and practices of the industry over time.
